On the first Sunday in Advent,  Durham Street Methodist Church unveiled this year’s Advent Calendar, in the Toi Gallery. The white plastic box is for donations such as non-perishable food, toiletries, grocery & petrol vouchers which will be donated to appropriate charities such as Christchurch Methodist Mission, Housing First, Social Housing, Child & Family Services, Aratupu Preschool & Whanau Hub, and the Margaret Mahy Breakfast Group. If you’d prefer your gift to have an international reach you can also download CWS Gifted vouchers from https://gift.org.nz. The box will be moved one space every day, starting at the bottom right hand side of the calendar. When it reaches the top, it’s Christmas!
