Aldersgate Puari Huinga is an initiative of the Durham Street Methodist Church. We are committed to the post-quake Christchurch, and want to do our bit to help build a fairer, more inclusive city. We see an important part of our role is to provide a warm and welcoming hospitality in the heart of the city – a gathering place open to all, with a wide variety of community and function spaces.

Aldersgate has been thoughtfully designed with maximum flexibility to meet the diversity of changing community needs. It includes quiet places for meditation or a sanctuary from noisy and busy lives. It includes some of the latest technology and venue spaces for exciting events and for people to meet and work together on what is important to them. Through clever design there is space both for large gatherings and intimate meetings. There is even a full commercial kitchen to support your hospitality – right up to large catered events or functions. And a beautiful surprise will greet you when you walk through the building to the garden oasis that opens out directly from the auditorium.
