The congregation of Durham Street Methodist Church are proud to be supporting and participating in the 2024 Pride Celebrations! We invite you to join us in any or all of the following events:

Thursday 14th March 5.15pm, Cashel Mall (starting at the Colombo Street end). Join our contingent at the Walk for Support to demonstrate the church’s solidarity and repentance for the harm caused. Lesbian, Gay, Straight, Bi, Allies, Trans, cis-gender – all are welcome to show their support.
If you’d like to stay around and enjoy the atmosphere of the city centre over a drink and/or meal, please email welcome@aldersgate.org.nz so we can book some tables.

Friday 22nd June at 7.30pm, Aldersgate Centre. Have a Gay ‘Ol Time at our Fabulous Friday Games Night. Hospitality and fun for all over an impressive array of board games. This a child friendly event suitable for humans of all ages, genders and sexual preferences. Bring along your friends and make new friends. Help bring some snacks if you are able. No charge.

Saturday 23rd June, 7.30-9.30pm, Aldersgate Centre. Be moved by the unique opportunity to watch the award-winning documentary: 1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted Culture. This movie is not yet available for general distribution in this part of the world – this is a one-off opportunity, by special arrangement with the director. You can preview the movie’s trailer here. It’s a great opportunity to bring along friends (or enemies) struggling with what the Bible appears to say about homosexuality. Help bring some dessert for afterwards – if you are able. No charge.

Sunday 24th June, 10-11.30am, Aldersgate Chapel. Join us for our world-famous-in-New-Zealand Pride Service on the theme of Queerly Beloved, with special guest speaker genderqueer pastor, Steff Fenton, (they/them). Followed by the chance to renew connections and make new friends over sumptuous refreshments. All are genuinely welcome – of any faith or none, queer, straight, allies or curious. No charge.
