The hīkoi will give an introduction to the story of the gospel here in Ōtautahi Christchurch, especially in the early days of Maori / European contact and European settlement, with the aim of constructively influencing both our present context and future developments. While commencing at St Marys Pro-Cathedral, 373 Manchester St., we will soon depart by bus for Tuahiwi, then Rehua Marae, and finally the Basilica, before returning to St Mary’s for a Poroporoaki.
At each of the three sites we visit, we will be in the hands of our hosts, Anglicans, Methodists and Catholics. They will use the time as they wish, they will tell their story, they will pose the questions they wish to share.
Please bring finger food to share for lunch at the wharekai, Rehua Marae.
The cost is $20 to cover expenses. Please book your seat by emailing briennedavies@gmail.com
