For performance the centre is a ‘one stop shop’ with all facilities. Acoustically the facility is outstanding with sound absorbing fabrics and surfaces kept to a minimum. There is of course the added benefit of being able to use the sound equipment at the venue which reduces set up time, use of the piano and organ is also available. There is even live streaming if required. Staging is also available for groups such as ours.
We found that the professional lighting system allowed us to control the environment completely in respect of photography. The system at Aldersgate seems to have almost limitless options most of which we didn’t use but they were available. Access with [additional] staging could not have been easier, we were able to manoeuvre our trailer right up to the rear door and take it straight to the stage with no steps or no other doors. We were also able to benefit from on site car parking which is a considerable asset in the centre of town. Throughout this process the staff, in particular Karen and David, were of great help, nothing was too much trouble for them. Thankyou for the use of your wonderful facility, I am sure you will see us again.

We held our recent Women in Business event at Aldersgate Centre for over 300 people. The space was perfect for what we needed with plenty of seating for everyone and a beautiful outdoor courtyard guests were able to use for refreshments and networking. Karen made everything really easy to plan and organise, connecting us with supplies and organizing staff to manage the food and beverage service. We will definitely use the space again and will be recommending to others. And for our organisation using the Aldersgate Centre was great to be able to help support the work they do.

Once again we chose to use the wonderful facility at Aldersgate to hold our Avon Hockey Club Prize Giving. As in previous years, the venue was immaculate and Karen and her team’s catering and service were superb. The comments from our hockey community were, once again unanimously positive, not only for the stunning venue, but also for the ambience, service and delicious food we received. Karen’s Manaakitanga is second to none. The Avon Hockey Club will certainly continue to use this facility and Karen’s expertise for our future end of year functions.

Great venue to hire for our market. We could fit loads of stalls in the hall and also made use of the wānanga room. We also got tonnes of great feedback about the space, lounge area, bathrooms etc. and using the vestry as a changing room was a hit! Pack down was easy and comms with the venue manager was great. Would use again.

Kia ora. We spent 2.5 fabulous days in your beautiful facility. You catered to our every need. The atmosphere created by the beautiful stained-glass window set the tone for our conference. The technical facilities are first class and very easy to use. Any questions or difficulties that we had were answered straight away. Your staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a special experience. The venue was sparkling clean, spacious and was very well laid out to meet our requirements. The catering was second to none and was outstanding, we had a wide selection to choose from with more than enough for all to enjoy. All of our guests expressed their satisfaction with the venue and also want to use it. We would definitely recommend your venue. Thank you so much for taking care of us. Aldersgate hosted our Living Wage Mayoral Forum this year. The venue is beautiful, the acoustics perfect, and all of the amenities – unisex bathrooms with linen towels, industrial kitchen facilities, projector and sound system – world class. The staff were so so helpful and welcoming and did a lot to ensure the event flowed without a hitch. Thanks so much!
