Aldersgate was alive last Sunday for a special celebration to close Pride Week in Christchurch. Just under 60 people of all ages took part in a colourful and creative celebration, under the theme of We Are Loved. Opening with the haunting sounds of the song “Draw the circle wide” from our lock-down friends at Eastminster United Church (Toronto), jelly beans and butterflies, balloons, Peter’s mind-blowing insight into the radical inclusiveness of Jesus, singing with gusto powerfully confronting lyrics, and the brutally honest sharing of personal stories in table talk – these were all part of what made it a gathering to remember. And the morning tea that followed was truely fabulous!
