DeRay McKesson: #BlackLivesMatter

August 26, 2019 @ 7:30 - 8:45pmEvent info and tickets here

This is a must-see event for anyone with a passion for justice or the heart of an activist.

In August 2014, twenty-nine-year-old activist DeRay Mckesson stood with hundreds of others on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri, to push a message of justice and accountability. These protests, and others like them in cities across the country, resulted in the birth of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Now, in his first book, The Other Side of Freedom: Race and justice in a divided America, Mckesson lays down the intellectual, pragmatic, and political framework for a new liberation movement.

Mckesson places an idea of shared hope for a better future at the core of his activism. He encourages us to take responsibility for imagining, then building, the world we want to live in.

Mckesson appears in conversation with Victor Rodger, followed by audience Q&A and book signing.
