As the Matariki star cluster rises in our winter sky, Durham Street Methodists with Canterbury Interfaith Society host an inter-faith celebration of Matariki. Under the theme of Matariki he renga waka – a meeting place for everyone, embracing inclusion and diversity – it’s a chance to explore the meaning of Matariki, enjoy cultural performances, and hear reflections on the significance of stars in different faith traditions. This will be followed by the opportunity to share a light supper together. This is a wonderful opportunity to honour the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future, as we strengthen the bonds between our diverse faiths and cultures. All are welcome.
