But that is miles away from pressuring already-stretched people into giving or shaming people to go under or have to take out usurious loans just to survive. It is miles away from the obscenity of the so-called ‘prosperity gospel’ – implying that all true believers will be magically made wealthy, and impoverishing your family now is a way to prove your faith.
