On Monday morning 17 Dec, Dr Terry Ryan, assisted by Roz Wilkie blessed the completed Aldersgate Centre, after it was handed over from the builders to the Durham Street Methodist Church. In attendance along with a small group from the congregation, we also hosted representatives of the Social Services of Christchurch Methodist Mission, and Christian World Service, who will also be making Aldersgate their home from December and January. While there are still some finishing touches to be completed, the first worship service will be held in the Chapel at Aldersgate, 9:30am on Christmas Day 2019 – 155 years to the day from the first worship service held in the old stone church on this spot.
