Micah J Murray offers a free downloadable screensaver or wallpaper for your smartphone, laptop. or computer, based on 1 John 4. It’s so easy to forget that love and fear cannot coexist. Love is stronger than fear. Love overcomes fear. So here is a handy reminder for all your devices. (Murray also has some thoughtful and provocative blogs on his webpage, worth checking out.)

Our Bible app

This is an inclusive & progressive faith-based bible app that is ‘uplifting believers of all stripes.’ At last a place to find devotionals, podcasts, and resources that aren’t overtly conservative. Too often our digital faith resources are dominated by a narrow perspective that excludes. Our Bible app was started as a place where every person would feel welcome to explore the Christian Bible and tradition – where all people feel affirmed, supported, and represented, regardless of there age, sexuality, ability, gender, or race. What sounds more boring than A Weekly Essay on the Revised Common Lectionary? Well you couldn’t be further from the truth. This blog describes its approach as based on six values – biblical fidelity, cultural relevance, critical enquiry, pastoral sensitivity, global awareness, and ecumenical generosity. The gritty commentary breaks open the Bible reading for each week and plants them (often annoyingly) right in the middle of our busy, messy, complicated lives. Queer Theology: The Podcast

The bible, every week, queered. Too often, the same seven “clobber passage” are all that’s discussed when it comes to Christian LGBTI+ lives and issues. Queer Theology boldly proclaims: we are more than what we are not. Each week, it takes a passage from the upcoming Sunday’s lectionary and shares a queer perspective on it. Their philosophy is: looking at what bible passages might say for LGBTI+ people and what LGBTI+ people might bring to passages are both important. You can subscribe to the free Podcast on Apple, Google, Spotify, Stitcher, Overcast, and even old-fashioned email!

Pe-Churcha-Kucha

A group for people who don’t like groups. This (almost unpronounceable) group doesn’t really exist. It only has a virtual existence on Facebook, but currently has around 50 members. It’s a place to share ideas, songs, poems, links, books, prayers, pictures, anything really that inspires or nurtures a progressive, inclusive, socially just spirituality. Created by members of Durham Street Methodist community as a kind of virtual house group, it is open to any who share our values.
